Live Photos + Review: Avenged Sevenfold in Treviso, Italy

avenged sevenfold treviso palaverde 2011

Before summer date for Avenged Sevenfold to Palaverde Treviso (Villorba, to be precise), the only one in Northern Italy (the other will in fact be in Rome in a couple of weeks), and the main news is only one: the minimum differences with the show in Milan last fall, a lineup that has brought only marginal changes in its length of just over 70 minutes.

They are a wonderful band to see: loads and always smiling (excluding Synyster Gates are always on Scazzi), look very tamarro, you shoot the poses, and know how to play iron gates in the background makes the scene very evocative. Not apparent but the new drummer Arin Ilejay on which, despite being faced with undeniable talent, weighs mere shadow of the late vocalist The Rev. is talking about the setlist: half is devoted to the latest album Nightmare, in its brevity , was forced to cut popular songs such as, random name, Beast and the Harlot. Questionable choice, and not just because the media is going to tour Europe for the second time.

The result is what it is: large, even if it was reasonable to expect a bit 'more people, and composed mostly of boys, one step away from their summer holidays, ready to see their idols. All with the merits and defects of the case. From their unconditional loyalty towards a Californian band, which leads them to encourage them through the show and call in vain on the stage already an hour and a half before the start of the dances: on that point of view, have the best fans Avenged Sevenfold you may have, and the same Matt Shadows has repeatedly highlighted in the evening. Do not be forgiven, however, the YouTube Generation, an egregious sin: the circle pit at the end of the show, the riffs Crossroads, reduced to a bunch of people that went to the concert was not even the punk band of cronies at the oratory in a tragicomic scenario, perhaps, remains the only blemish a short but intense concert.

Posted: Zacky Vengeance blogs about A7X after Jimmy's passing

MTV has put up a blog by Zacky Vengeance, where he speaks about Avenged Sevenfold after Jimmy's passing. You can read it here or read it below:

Two years ago at Rock on the Range was Jimmy's last show with us in the states. Six months after that, Jimmy passed, and it seemed the end was certain for us and A7X. Our fans carried us and got us back on our feet, so, headlining Rock on the Range in front of 35,000 fans who have been through hell and back with us was an amazing tribute to Jimmy and to the whole A7X family. We will never take any of it for granted. I'm writing this as I get ready to leave for Europe in a few hours to solidify what we started 12 years ago. We have worked so hard to win over the people in Europe, which is not easy because they demand a lot from their bands and in return reward them with a lifetime of loyalty. Even now, as we prepare to headline festivals and support some of the biggest rock bands in the world, we still have so far to go. After Europe, we are coming for you Australia. It has been far too long.
See you in the Pit,
Zacky V
